Windhaven was a good book. I liked reading about the way people might fly if they wore big kites. The descriptions of what someone might feel if they got to glide over the air were pretty cool.  It was a very easy read, and the plot was interesting enough. This is a good book for killing time while waiting for the snow to clear…

My class at the CCAE is using this book. So far, I have only to add that the book does not explain the tones very well. In the Japanese book I had a few years ago, there was a table that showed you the corresponding English sound for the different tones. Not so in this book. Also the explanation of some of the common usages of syllables is in a small list at the front, but there aren’t enough examples to really explain it correctly. Ah well…
