Finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. The ending was sad, and Harry really wasn’t a likeable character in this book. I feel that there were too many disconnected things happening in the book and the plot was complex, yet unfulfilling in the way it unfolded. This really doesn’t compare to the earlier books and I think most people would read it out of continuity to the previous books. However, readers will not find that this book is as rewarding or interesting as the last. I felt that I didn’t really enjoy any of the things that happened to Harry, and that he was not only a misunderstood person (from the author’s point of view) but it was very hard for readers to relate. Even though I can relate to most books on adolescence and the problems of growing up, this book did not really shed any light on a different or even interesting perspective on growing up. Harry is lucky to have the friends, and at the end of this book, I don’t think he deserves their loyalty as much. Ah well….

Currently reading the latest Harry Potter. It’s not as good in writing and plot development as the others. I’m on page 100 or so, and there’s too much going on and not enough tying the events together.  Maybe I’m just spoiled on Phillip Pullman and Robin Hobb…

So, I finally finished Fool’s Fate. After a certain point in the book I could not put it down. The story was quite satisfying and fantastic! I would never have guessed the ending and I am so thrilled with the ending. Well worth the cover price of the hardbound book– I just couldn’t wait to read it. This is quite possibly, the best current fantasy series I have ever read.
