Flowers and how they changed the world

I picked this book up at the library because of the photos, but the
text is actually quite well written. I am learning to see the symmetry
in flowers, and also understand how the design allows flowers to
develop the fruits and growth the way they do. It is a nice complement
to the other book I know, On Growth and Form. But this is a relaxing
read aside from the technical reading I’ve been doing lately.  The
author does a great job of reflecting back on why understanding the way
flowers work can give insight into the evolution of our culture. This
is an adventurous discourse on botany that I highly recommend
because of its thought provoking insight into the science and study of
flowers.A pleasant surprise from the Hayden “Serendipity” collection.
